Congressman Mike Ezell, currently serving Mississippi’s 4th District since 2023, has been actively updating his constituents through social media. Here are some highlights from his recent posts:
On April 30, 2025, Congressman Mike Ezell expressed relief as he shared news that the Bonnet Carré Spillway will remain closed. He noted, “Great news for South Mississippi’s shrimpers, fishermen, and coastal communities: the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that the Bonnet Carré Spillway will remain closed, as the Mississippi River is cresting lower than expected.” This decision, he detailed, is beneficial for the marine life in the region, which would otherwise be disrupted by the spillway’s opening.
The next day, May 1, 2025, Ezell communicated his sentiments regarding the National Day of Prayer. He shared that he was particularly appreciative of the power of prayer. He stated, “Today, on the National Day of Prayer, I’m especially grateful for the power of prayer and the strength it gives us as individuals, as communities, and as a nation.” During the day, he had the honor of hosting a group of preachers from Mississippi in Washington, D.C., who prayed over him.
On May 2, 2025, Ezell highlighted a development crucial to both Mississippi and national interests. He announced the U.S. Coast Guard’s approval for the full production of the Polar Security Cutter, to be constructed at Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. “This marks a significant step in strengthening our presence in the Arctic,” Ezell shared, emphasizing the importance of this initiative in enhancing American maritime security.
Mike Ezell, born in Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1959, has been a prominent figure in representing his home state, particularly in the realm of maritime and local community interests. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1997.
