Forrest County, Miss. – Sheriff Charlie Sims welcomed area law enforcement officials today to kick off a meeting of to discuss law enforcement matters at the multi-purpose center in Hattiesburg.

Pine Belt Sheriff’s, Chiefs of Police, FBI, and Investigators from the various agencies came together to discuss common problems and how to work together to help fight crime in the area.

Sheriff Sims said, “Criminals do not see jurisdictional lines. Many times, we see the same criminals moving around the area committing crimes that affect us all. This is a measure to help us to open lines of communication between our agencies that will keep information flowing to solve crimes.”

This multi-agency meeting has been utilized in the past. However, because of Covid-19, it has been on hold for the last couple of years.
