Fullerton wins 400-meter hurdles at Georgia Tech Invitational

Javel Fullerton won the 400-meter hurdles to close out two days of competition for the Golden Eagles at the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 18 in Atlanta.

The event featured several strong performances from both men’s and women’s teams. Tyler Nichols finished second in the high jump with a clearance of 2.15 meters, while Valentino Rudolph placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 21.08 seconds. Saxon Brown also secured an eighth-place finish in the men’s 800 meters, clocking in at 1:51.26.

On the women’s side, Alana Simon led field events by finishing third in the high jump with a mark of 1.75 meters. Addison McLaurin came sixth in the women’s 200 meters with a time of 24.01 seconds, and Emme Bates finished sixth in the women’s 800 meters at 2:10.23.

Other top eight finishes included McLaurin’s performance in the women’s sprints and Bates’ showing in middle distance events, highlighting depth across different disciplines for Southern Miss Golden Eagles Track & Field.

The Golden Eagles are scheduled to compete next at the Samford Invitational on Friday, April 24th, which will take place in Birmingham, Alabama.
