Jones County Sheriff’s Department seeks public help in search for missing woman

The Jones County Sheriff’s Department announced on Mar. 11 that it is searching for Nellie Rustin, an 82-year-old woman who has been reported missing. Rustin was last seen at her home on Thomas Ed Rustin Road in the Rustin community at 6:00 p.m. yesterday.

Authorities describe Nellie Rustin as a white female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 135 pounds. She has hazel eyes and gray hair.

The department is asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact either 911 or the Jones County Sheriff’s Department at 601-425-3147.

The search for Rustin highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to locate missing persons and ensure their safety. Community members are encouraged to assist by sharing any relevant information they may have.

Officials say they will continue their investigation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
