Congressman Mike Ezell, representing Mississippi’s 4th District since 2023, has been active on social media discussing legislative efforts and issues concerning his constituents. The congressman, who succeeded Steven Palazzo and holds a BA from the University of Southern Mississippi, uses his platform to address various policy matters.

On May 5, 2025, Congressman Ezell announced the introduction of the KITS Act in collaboration with Representative Carbajal. This bipartisan bill aims to ensure that FEMA disaster recovery projects are overseen by professionals licensed in the affected state. He emphasized “the importance of local expertise in rebuilding efforts”.

The following day, May 6, 2025, Congressman Ezell participated in a bipartisan working group focused on supporting law enforcement officers. Drawing from his extensive experience as a former sheriff with four decades in law enforcement, he highlighted his understanding of “what our officers need to do their jobs safely”.

On May 7, 2025, Congressman Ezell expressed gratitude towards Secretary Noem for highlighting ongoing challenges faced by Hurricane Katrina victims over the past two decades. He criticized FEMA for its role in these issues and acknowledged “one of the massive failures that FEMA is responsible” for regarding disaster relief efforts.

Mike Ezell was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1959 and continues to reside there today.
