68 percent of applicants to William Carey University were admitted for fall 2018

At William Carey University, 76 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 62 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Hattiesburg enrolled 5,042 students in fall 2018, including 3,249 in undergraduate and 1,793 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

64 percent of undergraduates are residents of Mississippi, and 28 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (65 percent) and Black or African American (25 percent).

The school admitted 68 percent of the 607 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 41 percent enrolled.
