Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Jones County Junior College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Jones County Junior College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Mississippi residents paid $3,480 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 57.5 percent more than residents this year, or $5,480. Their price tag grew 22.3 percent from $4,480 in 2017-18.

About 97 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Mississippi residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 81 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 871 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.5 million and 144 students took out student loans totaling more than $573,369.

Including all undergraduates (4,496), 2,930 students used grants or scholarships totaling $16.3 million, and 587 students took out $2.4 million in federal student loans.
