Cost of college went up for all students at Mississippi College of Beauty Culture

Tuition and fees rose 12.5 percent for 2018-19 at Mississippi College of Beauty Culture, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Mississippi students paid $14,350 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $1,600 more than the $12,750 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 76 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 21 students received grants or scholarships totaling $117,816 and 14 students took out student loans totaling more than $119,750.

Including all undergraduates (63), 49 students used grants or scholarships totaling $250,061, and 31 students took out $237,250 in federal student loans.
