Our tiniest patients love September because it’s National NICU Awareness Month!
It’s our goal to do what is best for the patient, no matter the size. That’s why our NICU is equipped with 23 beds, divided between an intensive care unit, intermediate care nursery, and isolation room for critically ill infants.
Our NICU is also supported by four neonatologists, two nurse practitioners, highly-skilled nurses, respiratory therapists and acute and advanced care techs trained in neonatal care.
In honor of our NICU graduates, we are hosting a “Forrest General Hospital NICU Reunion” on October 1, from 5-8 p.m., at the Hattiesburg Zoo’s Africa exhibit. NICU “graduates” and their families are invited to join other families from across the Pine Belt for a fun night!
