The City of Laurel is proud to announce the renaming of Joe Wheeler Ave to Dr. Deborrah Hyde Avenue in honor of this distinguished Laurel native who was the second African American woman to be certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. The sign unveiling ceremony will take place at 1:30 PM Tuesday, October 25 at the intersection of East 19th Street and Joe Wheeler Avenue.
