Two Former Eagles Set to Experience Super Bowl LVII for Philadelphia Eagles

Two former Southern Miss football players, Quez Watkins and Cameron Tom, will be with the Philadelphia Eagles for Super Bowl LVII, which will take place in Glendale, Arizona, this Sunday. The Eagles will meet the Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday, at 5:30 p.m. CT, which will be telecast on FOX.

Sunday's big game marks the fourth-straight year a Southern Miss alumnus will play a part.

Watkins, who lettered for the Golden Eagles for three seasons (2017-19), played in all 17 games in his third NFL season for the Eagles. He collected 33 catches for 354 yards during the year for an average of 10.7 yards per catch with three touchdown receptions.

Tom, who played for Southern Miss from 2013-16, signed with the practice squad back in July of 2022. Currently in his fifth NFL season, he spent 2019 on the injured reserved, Tom was a part of the New Orleans Saints from 2017-2020, before playing last season as part of the Miami Dolphins, before joining the Eagles this season. Tom has appeared in 20 career regular season games and two playoff contests.

Watkins will become the 19th former Golden Eagle to be on the official dress roster for a Super Bowl.

Former Golden Eagle punter, Jerrel Wilson, holds the distinction of being the first from the program to play in the contest as he appeared in the inaugural game. Wilson also went on to play in Super Bowl IV. He is also the only Golden Eagle player to play for the Chiefs in a Super Bowl.

Todd Pinkston played for the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX.
