“Career Paths for Math Majors”

William Carey University’s School of Natural & Behavioral Sciences will host “Career Paths for Math Majors” at King Student Center on Feb. 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Three speakers from this field will discuss their careers and projects to give students an idea of career possibilities – and audience members will have a chance to ask questions at the end of the session:

•    Dr. Haley Dozier, computer scientist at U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center;

•    Dr. Hans Ngodock, oceanographer at Naval Research Laboratory; and

•    Dr. Aaron Lott, affiliated with the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at NASA Ames Research Center, and Universities Space Research Association’s Research Institute for Advanced Computer Science.

“This is an excellent opportunity for students considering majoring in mathematics, or anyone who is curious about how math is used in the real world and how this field impacts our daily lives,” said Dr. Amber Mooney, WCU assistant professor of mathematics.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Mooney at amooney@wmcarey.edu.
