2021 has 9% of Marion County residents unemployed

Marion County recorded an unemployment rate of 9% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 858 people out of the 24,609 living in Marion County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Marion County has decreased compared to the 9.3% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Marion County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.8%.

Of the 8,639 people who had a job during that time, 27 were employed in the Armed Forces and 8,612 belonged to the civilian labor force.
