Jones County’s 22 coaches earned an average salary of $70,774 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the fourth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Mississippi post-secondary schools during 2022.

Jones County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Jones County Junior College stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $83,088.

Male coaches of men's teams received $65,582 on average in Jones County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $58,360.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
